Why Holy Angels? More about what makes AHA so special.

• Our students come to AHA from 110 different feeder schools, on average. This makes your student’s experience unique and exciting, as they are getting a fresh start with new classmates and new friendships.
   
• Since all students are new in 9th grade, your student will have the opportunity to connect with their peers who have not already formed larger friend groups. We make an intentional effort to help students get acclimated and socialized; this begins in the summer and continues through the first trimester of the school year.

We currently have 622 students in grades 9-12. That breaks down to 150-170 per class and 17-20 in the classroom. We feel that this is the sweet spot in school size because of the opportunities it presents for our students both in and out of the classroom.

Diversity is a strength of our school community! While 65% of our students are Catholic, AHA welcomes students of all faiths. 31% of our students are non-white, with a growing population of Spanish-speaking families. We also have socioeconomic diversity as shown by the number of families that we support with tuition assistance each year (over 50%).

Serving families of all backgrounds has always been a core value of AHA.

• AHA offers a best-in-class College & Career Center (CCC) for all students. As 9th graders, students get their own college and career counselor, who partner with families all four years. They begin with freshmen meetings, so they can get to know you and or your student. Sophomore year is focused on career exploration. During junior year, students complete their college portfolio, so they can return as seniors to finalize college admissions choices. Our CCC also brings in over 100 college reps each fall. Our Class of 2023 was offered $16.3 million in college scholarships.
   
• Our Learning Center provides students with support, structure, and monitoring of their academic progress. It houses both the Learning Variations (LV) Program and the Response to Intervention (RTI) Program.
   
• Each student has their own dedicated guidance counselor, available to assist students with schedule changes, social support, and any items that a student may need from day to day.

AHA was 1 of only 10 schools in Minnesota to earn the Platinum recognition on the 2023 Advanced Placement School Honor Roll. Platinum is the highest award level offered and reflects the strength of AHA's college preparatory curriculum. 

In the 2022-23 school year, 282 students completed 570 Advanced Placement examinations. Of the 570 exams taken, 66% received scores of 3 or higher and 78 were recognized as AP Scholars. 

AHA offers 53 different sports, activities, and clubs for our students to participate in outside of the classroom. We evaluate these extra-curriculars every year and continue to add options based on our students' interest levels. 

Since 2021, AHA has earned 36 conference championships with 256 of our student-athletes being awarded with All-Conference recognition. In addition, our programs have 23 state appearances with 36 students being name All-State during this time. 

Over 90% of our student body participates in a sport, activity, or club. Many of those students are actually involved in 3+ extra-curriculars options. 

It is very common for AHA students to participate in multiple options during the same season. Our students have many outlets to meet new friends, try new things, and learn the importance of time management. All of these skills develop and prepare them for life after high school.

Students can join the Campus Ministry Team (CMT) during their senior year. This class is unique to Holy Angels and provides broad experiences to empower students to minister and lead in the areas of faith, service, and pastoral care to deepen and strengthen the spiritual life of the AHA community.

In addition, CMT students meet with our ninth grade students once a week as part of our mentor program. They plan and lead our yearly class retreats, Masses, and prayer services. CMT truly benefits and enriches the faith of our entire school.

As a Catholic school, we are fortunate to be able to celebrate our faith throughout the school year. Each day, a member of our Campus Ministry Team leads our school in a short prayer. Our community also gathers at least once a month for our all-school Masses.

Outside of the classroom, there are many optional opportunities for students to grow in their faith, such us morning rosary, Faith Club, Liturgy Quad, and more.
